STATUS / A late start to the day – I overslept, partly because I’d been running on less-than-normal sleep for a few days. I also started working out properly again yesterday, since my back is doing well.

ON THE DESK / Yesterday was scattered – all revisions and deliveries. Today I’m working on The Oddly Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos #12 and the back half of Robin #4.

STATUS / Had a busy but nice weekend (no work – I’ve been very strict about not working weekends ever since I started freelancing eight years ago). Had a slow, lazy start today.

ON THE DESK / Not much lettering work today – making headway on Robin #4, plus I have to wrap up the SFX for w0rldtr33 #11 (we employ an unusual method by which I send Jordie just the SFX and she pastes them into the art and colours them along with everything else). Other than that, a few deliveries and emails.

STATUS / Had been pretty knocked out by painkillers and antibiotics till yesterday – getting back to normal today, so finishing up a bunch of pending work.

ON THE DESK / Lots of revisions – The One Hand #5, The Department of Truth #23, checking on final proofs for Spectregraph #2. Styles for the new book, and finally making some headway on Robin #4.

STATUS / Still a bit knocked out by the antibiotics I’m on after my dental surgery. Hoping to be back to fighting strength tomorrow.

ON THE DESK / Style options for a new book, and lettering Robin #4 since I took things easy yesterday. Also finishing up Spectregraph #2.

STATUS / Slow start to the day, because of the work mentioned below.

I’ve got a dentist’s appointment in the evening which I’m dreading – an extraction. But on the other hand, I had to check my blood sugar levels for the surgery, and they’re within normal range, which is a great win as a diabetic.

STATUS / Voting day in Pune today. I’ll be picking up my mother in a bit and we’ll go vote together.

ON THE DESK / Last few pages of The One Hand #5. Finishing touches to Dawnrunner #4. Then I believe I’m working on Robin: The Boy Wonder #4.

STATUS / K and I had breakfast with a friend visiting from out of town, and now I’m back home to work for the day. I’ve got another friend staying over tonight, but she arrives late, so I’ve got the day to myself.

ON THE DESK / Integrating the coloured pages for Dawnrunner #4 and reviewing it for myself, since I lettered it entirely out of order. I will also begin lettering Robin #4, and letter a few pages for Spectregraph #2.

OUT TODAY / Robin: The Boy Wonder #1 with Juni Ba and Chris O’Halloran. The One Hand #4 with Ram V, Laurence Campbell, Lee Loughridge and Tom Muller. The Oddly Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos #9 with Tate Brombal, James Tynion IV, Isaac Goodhart and Miquel Muerto.

STATUS / Good day today – it’s K and my one-year anniversary, so date night is planned.

ON THE DESK / A couple of pages of this, a couple of pages of that, and laying out the script for a couple of books (The Department of Truth #32 and Robin: The Boy Wonder #4) since my assistant, who usually does this part, is on vacation.

STATUS / Back at my own home and desk. Back pain nil, which I’d like to figure out how to maintain.

ON THE DESK / Big picture, sorting out my schedule for May – so lots of emails and staring at the calendar today. Other than that, new pages for Dawnrunner #4, and some writing work.

Been doing these for a week now, and I’ve been enjoying them – forces me to be a bit more mindful about what I’m doing with my time, and keeps me focused on the website rather than on social media as the place where I think.

It might be a good idea to designate these the “Status Updates” and change my weekly “Status”s to “Weeknotes” or something, otherwise it could get confusing. I’ll give it a few more days before that.

STATUS / Regular day, other than attending a friend’s standup comedy show in the evening. Back pain is nearing zero, which is a very good sign. Hope it lasts when I get back to work next week.
